  • are you supposed to seperate them after they mate?

  • no need to separate them, the male beat feet outta there as soon as he was done. he teleported and ended up by my feet and that's why the video ends abruptly. lol. i like spiders in the cage, not on the floor! it was amazing how fast he could move. unfortunately no egg sac was produced.

  • it was a first for me too!

it's more common in some species of tarantula than others and may depend a lot on luck and timing! I don't know much about this particular species in that respect. the male in the vid teleported out of the cage after the mating and ended up at my (bare) feet! the way he boogied makes me think that HE thought she might eat him!

i had a container ready to catch him, and did, but it was so fast!!!!

  • the male got lucky, female usually eats the male when they're done

  • First time I saw this vid, it really snared me. A mating of tarantulas, which I personally wouldn't stand near unless they're behind glass, with beautiful music playing in the back. It was really clear, and really catching.

Though, for the side of the male tarantula, not the best choice of song for a night of love soon to end dramatically.

  • tarantula porn.

  • lol the one on the right looks like a furry starfish

  • My first thought is feed both spiders before setting them up to mate. Seems like that would lesson the chances of death. I don't know if female tarantulas kill and save their prey for later if they aren't hungry at the time.

  • Beautiful song for that special moment!!!
