Hello boys and ghouls! Here is my interpretation of the lost film "London After Midnight". Fangs a lot!

  • Made with Windows Movie Maker. I took stills from the film and altered them. Then I put them in order, frame by frame. Body doubles include Vincent Price, Werner Krause, and a horse living somewhere in Lancaster Pennsylvania.

  • A number of people have asked permission to use this video. Fine by me, I hereby give my permission for use in whatever way you want. This is just an animation test I did to see if it was feasible. If it raises awareness about the film, or Lon Chaney, I'm all for it. MGM may a have a say in the matter, but frankly, they're the idiots who lost the bloody thing to begin with!

  • Thanks for the comments. If anything is likely to surface, it will be in fragments and poor quality. Even so, it's possible that it exists under "Conrad Nagel clips" or "Polly Moran Comedy". One can only hope!

  • Made in Horrorwood, Karloffornia

  • A bit Terry Gilliam but an excellent job! I applaud you sir.

  • Incdredible that it existed into the mid-1960s, already a time when it was in demand as a legend but it was never rescuded and copied!

  • I love the fact that someone would take the time to do something like this, great vid. I replayed the part where the ghost moves around behind the window a few times because it was genuinely spooky.

Cool website by the way ("a long long time ago, I can still remember..." lol)

  • may I ask how you made this?

  • @ssslate Watched it. Lots of twist and turns, I still don't get it though. The vampire and vampire girl were never explained. Was Professor Burke in on Hamlin's scheme? The recreation is obviously missing some parts of the plot, I have more questions and doubts now than I did before. Let's all hope that some eccentric collector has a copy of the reel somewhere. If I had the money, I'd be hunting for this film right now.

  • there showing this right now in tcm but it more of a slide show with a story then a real motion picture

  • awesome! nealacito! it would be great if you can recreate the whole movie even just by following the story or the script. can you recreate the whole movie?

  • Very good job of recreating this short scene...I had seen the reconstruction of the film on the "Lon Chaney CD Collection" and I think yours is very interestingly done. Nice work!
