In the studio, mixing down live concert footage for "Zappa Plays Zappa", Dweezil turns to Waves, which he calls "Some of the best new plug-ins out there...They instantly make things sound more musical." For more info, go to www.waves.com

Over the past 3 years, Dweezil Zappa has been the prime-mover and performer behind the "Zappa Plays Zappa" tour, an ambitious undertaking devoted to bringing the music and legacy of Frank Zappa to a new generation of listeners. Travelling from Europe to the US to Australia, "Zappa Plays Zappa" has featured guest appearances by legendary musicians like Steve Vai and Terry Bozzio. As an ongoing project, the touring group continuously expands its repertoire by adding compositions drawn from Frank Zappa's vast body of work.

A recording artist in his own right, Dweezil has released several adventurous solo rock albums, and has played guitar for other artists, including Don Johnson, Winger, and Weird Al Yankovic. Since the early 1990s, Zappa has been working on a piece of music called "What The Hell Was I Thinking?", a 75-minute piece featuring guitar solos by dozens of famous guitar players, from Brian May and Eddie Van Halen to Malcolm and Angus Young. Dweezil also composed and performed the theme music for The Ben Stiller Show, as well as the solo on Spinal Tap's "Break Like the Wind".

Dweezil Zappa's show business experience extends far beyond the musical realm, having worked as an MTV VJ during the 1980s, as well as acting in movies like The Running Man and the brat-pack classic Pretty in Pink. In the mid 1990s, he was the voice for Ajax Duckman on the animated series Duckman, and also appeared briefly in the television sitcom Normal Life.
