In preparation for the Korean New Year in 2010, I prepared 12 recipes drawing upon sauce ideas from around the world to pair with Korean cylindrical rice cakes, called garae tteok. It was partly inspired by Seoul's annual Tteokbokki Festival. If you can't afford to visit Seoul, just organize your own Tteokbokki festival at home.

To find all 12 recipes in one spot, go to http://koreanforniancooking.blogspot.com/search/label/12%20days%20of%20tteok

  • 한국음식을 좋아하시나요?

you like other Korean dishes too?

  • @vanco555 of course. check out my blog and find out.

  • wow . . im so impressed.

i knew you were good but not this good.

i want to try every single dish, can i ask which one's ur favorite and which one is hardest to make?

  • @scarywolfie Gungjung tteokbokki (Korean palace rice cake) was the most complex recipe, which also makes it one of my favorites. My other favorites are the Thai green curry tteokbokki and the Beef Bolognese but I think they're all good food! :)

  • Is this kind of like a korean "pasta?" Looks really good and versatile. I'm a cilantro freak so I'd probably do the thai one first =D. Now I just need to find some tteokbokki...

  • @fezan84 Yeah, you can think of it as a Korean pasta, the texture is similar to gnocchi. You can find tteok noodles in most Korean grocery stores.
