1981 Suzuki GS550L. Good old four cylinder disco era cruiser. I'm not in love with the chassis of this bike; it could use stiffer suspension, more fuel capacity, and a more comfortable seat. But that little 550 motor is a wonderful piece of machinery that I'm happy riding the bike as is for now.
geez sounds good, runs smooth. beautiful. wish mine ran that good, could never get the fuel air mixture right, damn pod filters.

@localdu Congrats on the new bike! I had to sell mine last summer to pay some bills. Of course I miss it, but I've been thinking about looking for an old Yamaha XS650.

@localdu This would be a great choice for a first bike. It's very easy to ride, and the seat is nice and low. Just make sure your bike has engine case guards (you can see them on my bike in the video), If you drop the bike without case guards, you will be sorry, as the sides of the engine will take the brunt of the damage. Good luck to you, If you bought the GS, I hope you enjoy it!

@redcarsarasota i, as well, am looking at a gs550l :D the one i am interested in is a 1980, glossy black finish. if i get it, which is looking quite prominent, it will be my first bike. just a question, do you have any tips/pointers on operating this motorcycle, or have some useful advice for a novice preparing for his first bike?

I'm thinking about getting one of these. Is there a fix for the tach? Is it common?
