Very true! But it wasn't unknown for soldiers to use the repeating crossbow. It was very easy to use, and was especially effective when you had a bunch of conscripted peasants all firing at once.

I whip my lever back and forth.......

Arming 10 irregulars with this weapon in a siege defense while shooting at tightly formed formations, is like having 60 trained crossbowmen on a battlefield.

@TheXanian Which dynasty would that be? Wasn't the Chinese people not allowed to keep weapons for at least several dynasties?

@nomadnametab To be fair, it seems different because it's a different culture. But I agree, god I love Asian weaponry!

@TheXanian He said that, you know right? "This was the peasants weapon..."

@psifactor12 I have seen it before. sorry, no safety. And hard to aim.(the reason why be eliminated) Ancient used it to waste ammo on city wall. the guy is a fool to shoot it while running.

I just want to mention that ancient Chinese soldiers hardly used repeating crossbows on battlefields. Ancient Chinese soldiers had more powerful single-shot crossbows.
The repeating crossbow was used by ancient Chinese civilians for home defence.
