Hi, this is Richard from claimbackmytaxes.com. You are here because you know you pay too much in income tax each year. You see those deductions on your paycheck every month and you know that it is a big chunk of the money you make. I am here to tell you that you do not have to pay all that tax at the end of the year. That you can get back all of that income tax, I can show you how it happens, how it works, why it works and why you should do it.

A lot of people say that they are worried about what CRA [Canada Revenue Agency] will say with regards to this program, if you get involved with the tax shelter. The question is "do they always have the last say on what happens in tax matters?". Some people think that they are omnipotent, that they are like little mini-gods running around on tax issues in Canada. Well, the fact is they are not. The last say is the courts. Cases that have gone as far as the Supreme Court clearly establish that the CRA does not have the last say on the interpretation of tax law. And that arranging one's affairs so that you can minimize tax is perfectly legal. In fact, it is even enshrined in the Taxpayers Bill of Rights. We have been trained by the government to believe everything that the CRA says without question. They put out a bulletin, we are supposed to believe it. But the fact is they do not lie, that is for sure. And often any bulletin they put out are certainly based on facts as determined in court cases. But sometimes and especially with regards to tax shelters, their bulletins are all about bullying and scaring. They are based on their opinion not facts established in courts of law. Interesting fact is that about ninety percent of the people who are reassessed by the CRA do not fight it one little bit. They just leave it to CRA as right. Only about ten percent fight it. But interestingly of those ten percent who actually fight the reassessment, ninety percent of them win. That means that often, what the CRA says is not true. They made a mistake, they made a misinterpretation, a court case reveal later that they are not right. So, maybe Canadians should be asking more questions and learning more about what their biggest expense in life is and that is taxes. Maybe some time should be taken by you to go and see how you could reduce that large expense.
