@ladykiller007QOS so put it simply Velineon heats alot!! my mini revo cant handle even half the beating my Summit Brushed would take.Of course gearing arent the same but the brushed motors has a fan in them it is huge and has holes since water isnt an issue for them.Just make sure you make your motor turn a bit to dry it when your inside.or use motor cleaner.dont hit the brakes too hard(its the motor that brakes)so makes it heat.Dont do repetitive Burst accelerations. All depends on how you drive
@ladykiller007QOS i use the traxxas 7.4v 25c 2200mah lipo in my brushed summit. i never had any problems and since lipo delivers power esc and motors are colder.since esc has to drain power from nimh's and lipo constantly delivers the power but thats With a 7.4v!..11.1v is a hole other story i didnt and will never try my 11.1v in my brushed summit.just make sure not to overdrain it i use mine 10 mins in it then charge it.it can last 20 mins but unless u buy a external lipo cut off watch out
@kojakos86 so buy experience i know my lipo 7.4v 2200 mah 25c from traxxas lasts me a good 10 mins in there id say maybe 15 but without a lipo cut off safer to stay at 10 mins.Or you could go buy a cut off for 10$ all Vxl models has it though.basicly never put lipo in series. a lipo 11.1v with 25 to 30C+ is way more then enought. So if you motor becomes very hot try to find out why.are you putting battery in series? are you running alot in tall grass and water?motor maybe pushed too much on gears
@ladykiller007QOS i run them outside and its always near 0Degree's so my motors are always cold.Normaly on any Rc on a battery change you would want to wait a good 15-20 minutes to let electronics cool down.If you stay on street your motor shouldn't be very hot.On grass thats another story.Dont forget also Brushed motor cannot accept 2x7.2v nimh in serie if thats what you are doing thats why it is hot and its bad.7.4v lipo makes it fast and not so hot.brushed Esc has no lipo Cutoff
