@JanAlbrecht Not sure, all of the general Camponotus species I think, I tried to find some examples, but it did not go so well, I guess I should have favorated them. Who more then you do you know that has large Camponotus colonies? (300 workers +)
Do you mean because the PTFE is toxic to the ants?
Very strange! And which species of Camponotus? There are many and the most species i know are easy to "breed".
PTFE is good, but it is difficult to bring it on (to the basin if u got ants in there). Paraffin oil at/on the cover plates is easy to maintain/service.
I used PTFE. Now i use paraffin oil. The ants are very calm (if you feed them regular/constant) so i have no problems with escaping ants. In this hot summer (July over 30°C) i have to feed them with many/much water and sugar, but entirely it is very easy to keep THIS Camponotus species. I never heard that they die. There are many People breeding Camponotus species.
hahaha cool bei dir zirpt auch die bude ^^

@JanAlbrecht Why do you not use PTFE any longer?
I shall send over the information I have. Yes, many are breeding them, but I know of no one(execpt you) who has colonies above 200.
