Brammo Electric Motorcycle Test Ride - Tim Reha 2010 Visit: http://www.brammo.com | http://www.timreha.com . We had a great trip to Portland, Oregon to test ride the Brammo Enertia Electric Motorcycle. The Brammo Enertia electric motorcycle is the first production electric motorcycle on the market according to Brammo. We discuss the electric motorcycle's technology, build and take it for a test ride.

  • Haha! Thanks for the audio comments. This was just a fun side project video homies. its called practice. Input is good. FYI Brammo raised a round of funding so are expanding now.

  • @chronofusion - the bike is mostly quiet like the Tesla Roadster. Only noise is the chain some engine winding up. The electrics are nice because it is more of a peaceful ride. Stability in the damp weather we had was really solid. The bike was not a toy, really was impressed with the breaking, build and finish.. They put a limiter on the engine so the throttle does not snap as quick as I know the engine could, so it would be cool to have som

  • If you look at the recent oil well disaster off the coast and think it is horrible, then just look at ever car that is emitting the same junk into the air daily. These EVs are making strides that should be applauded not slammed.

  • Better batteries will come with time. I would be interested to have a test bike for a month to really see how the batteries perform.

  • The only thing, I think, remaining is solution on good, reliable, quickly-charged batteries that can take up a big capacity...And I think the future lies in the "ultracapacitors" technology based on the recent and near future nanotechnology developments. Imagine a bike that can be fully charged in some 5-6 minutes, that can go some 300 miles per charge, can reach some 100 miles per hour...Well, today it seems quite "futuristic", but in some 10-15 years it will be our reality.

  • Can you restrict these to a certain speed? Like for a scooter?

  • There are pro's and con's about electric bikes a big pro is that its fairly cheap to fill it up but a big con is that it wont last that long in a single ride which sucks cuz i enjoy really long drives

  • @dough654 your 1 gallon of gas costs you 8KWH of electricity just to process it.

  • @72mharris I don't understand the question. What about solar or wind? I recharge my electric bike from solar/wind power so it produces no carbon from running. It did take carbon to make it in the first place, but as it's much lighter (uses less materials) than the equivalent petrol bike so it produced much less carbon to build it than a similar petrol bike.

  • @dough654 No, it's never the case no matter where you are. The electricity needed to refine the petrol is more than the electricity needed to power the bike the equivalent distance. The electricity used to refine a litre of petrol is enough to recharge this bike twice or more.
