  • hi folks, i visited sri lanka in feb and stood exactly where the camera is now, then washed the elephant in the river, yes i gave a tip of 200 rupees (less than £1), but wow what an experience, i hope you enjoyed your holiday, its a really special place, hey united fan delia, did you see yala or bundala on your hols?

  • remind me who yala and bundala are again??

  • there is a wonderful elephant sanctuary that rescues captive elephants in Tennessee (the elephant sanctuary) and the Performing Animal Welfare Society also provides a sanctuary for African and Asian elephants that were once victims of the circus and zoo industry.

  • oh ok somebody told me that this was the only one. well they were sri lankan theyd probibly say anything for a bit of money

  • this is situated not in the jungle, in busy place around villages, there aren't any forest even close to this place, established around 1975 and became Breeding center. There are around 90 elephants living there now. The time when it was established, it could be the only one place in the world but now there are some other places but when we consider about the Asian Elephants (Elepahs maximus maximus ) it can be the biggest place of them in the world. In Africa its for African elephants.

  • @unitedfan2007delia yes it's the only one orphanage that has the biggest herd of elephants in the world in captivity. and those are not tamed like elephant collected from circus and zoo industry. they are not caged and wild. please refer to the official sites and sources like department of wild life in srilanka. rather than depending on rumors if so it's your fault. i give these information without charging a slightest bit of money and i am a srilankan. but thanks for uploading the video

  • national parks, along the south coast past galle, yala is fascinating where you see all kinds of animals and birds, and bundalla is mainly a bird sanctuary, loads of crocs and stuff as well!

i did love pinnawela though and would go back again1
