This Great and Amazing Church - The Mormon Church

This video is an excerpt from a devotional address given by Stephen H. Russell at BYU-Hawaii on March 18, 2004. Professor Russell quotes LeGrand Richards concerning an experience Elder Richards had while serving as president of the Netherlands LDS Mission in 1913.

LeGrand Richards was a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1952 until his death in 1993 at age 96. As can be noted from the quote in this video, Elder Richards was an enthusiastic champion of the gospel of Jesus Christ and quick to share the glorious truths of the Restoration. In the foreword to Elder Richards biography "Beloved Apostle," President Gordon B. Hinckley wrote, "Few men in our generation have done more to advance the work of the Lord than has Elder LeGrand Richards."

Dr. Russell was visiting professor of economics in the School of Business at BYU-Hawaii when this devotional address was given.

Do you know wat's fun about mormons. If you remove the second "m" it still describes them perfectly.

@MrRArnold2 they try to make it sound like they do, but they believe we are saved, ONLY after all that we can do. But in the bible it says all tat we can do is like a filthy rag to God. We are saved by grace, which is a GIFT from God, so we cant earn a gift. All we have to do is have faith in that gift and except it. By having true faith, we will naturally do good things, but they are not required, like mormons would have you think.

After Heavenly Father presented His plan, Lucifer stepped forward, saying, “Send me, … and I will redeem all mankind, that [not even] one soul shall … be lost … ; wherefore give me thine honor.” 5 This plan was rejected by our Father, for it would have denied us our agency. Indeed, it was a plan of rebellion.

Yet with agency we could make wrong choices, commit sin, and lose the opportunity to be with Heavenly Father again. For this reason a Savior would be provided to suffer for our sins and redeem us if we would repent. By His infinite Atonement, He brought about “the plan of mercy, to appease the demands of justice.”
