I don't see the big deal in calling people by the name they were introduced as. Even wrestlers do that. Foley or someone mentioned how Flair calls Taker "Mark" because he was introduced to him as that. Most people know him as Taker, tough. Just like some call Foley Mick and some Jack, Nash and Hall still refer to Pac as Kid half the time, etc.

I get the point of the silly little "It's Bryan Danielson, damn it! rabblerabblerabble" self-protest vs WWE... Stick it to the man, because they care how you feel!" but what you're saying is a contradiction.

Let's all agree that WWE fucked everything up by creating names for everyone to make sure they can 'own' them, though.

@C0NTR4l34ND Why? Because he's no longer using the name? I call him Sydal for a number of reasons. One I already mentioned. The other one is that I've been following that guy's career for years. He has been Sydal for the most part of said career. To me, he's Matt Sydal. Just like as much as the WWE wants to shove it down my throat, the "WWE Universe" are called FANS. And I still call Daniel Bryan - Bryan Danielson. Can you deal with that, pumpkin?

@TonyMark25 If Evan Bourne sucks, then Matt Sydal sucks. It's the same guy, and it's his own fault if he sucks. I know writing/booking has a lot to do with it but if you can't get past that and become a star against adversity, how talented are you REALLY? That's how I see it. If you need the booking to be tailored to suit you in order to shine, then you aren't that good. Just my opinion. But I agree that they are 'characters,' but anyone who refers to Evan Bourne (currently) as Sydal is an idiot
