They were not prisoners. They were citizens of a free Europe.

I was there in July, 2010, evil still resonates through the location.

@darklord0666 That's not really true. Accounts from various soldiers and survivors corroborate with each other stating that a small amount of Germans, somewhere between 12 and 50 were outright executed, all of which were SS guards. Wermacht soldiers were sorted to a separate group and were untouched because they were serving their country, not exterminating POWs. Some statements conflict saying that one soldier did it all with a machine gun, others state it was a firing squad. We'll never know.

omg i just went 2 the same exact concentration camp, it was the best part of the vacation, although it did give me chills and overwhelming sadness. it had a mysterious feel 2 it....i cant explain it. it was one of the saddest things i ever saw. the whole time, i felt like a prisoner there. i saw the tiny wooden beds and since then, every night b4 i went 2 sleep, i wud imagine how a prisoner there must feel.

@madiandelizabeth the men who liberated Dachau were not heros they were murderers. they killed and tortured hundreds of German guards after their surrender. America could have shown that we were better than the Nazis, instead we sunk to their level

USA govt for a decade after WW2 claimed that the Germans gassed scores of people at their dissident camps such as Dachau and Buchenwald but those lies were retracted. In the 1950s the WW2 victors were finally made to stop their evil program of psychological genocide against the German people. Since the 1950s the holocaust lies have been restricted to the 6 inspection-barred camps that were all located inside Poland. No Americans set foot in the camps in Poland only the Russians.

My grandpa was in the 42nd rainbow divisoin 222nd infantry company "b" and him along with many others in the 42nd liberated Dachau. I got the opurtunity to go to the reunion where all these men got together. They had such great stories to tell and it is to bad so many people don't get the chance to hear them because one day all of them will be gone. I would strongly encourage for everyone to research these great men and try to find one near you to talk to and meet.. NEVER FORGET RAINBOW!!!!!
omg i felt like a prisoner.

I just want to say that this gave me chills. I got the experience to walk through this camp in the summer of '06.
It still haunts me to this day.
