  • vovlo's are great cars. as soon as they hit that dry pavement, they are stone stopped.

  • This kind of training is mandatory when you take your driving licence in Sweden.

  • I wish I could do this.

  • Is there a version of this vid without the music? Those wet tyre skids sound awesome.

  • @RealizedRealization

And now there is show called: Worst Drivers in Sweden. (Sveriges Värsta Bilförare)

  • well when i saw that v40 on the wet ice thing there drive over it like it where a normal road, i guess.. my dad should be a proud owner of a 2000 v40 1.8i sport :)

  • @RR They've "invented" the same thing here and I'm thinking why don't they first teach candidates to drive, to recover skids, break, pass, park on a controlled safe track and only then let them try the actual traffic where they learn nothing but traffic regulations (of which they have to pass a writing exam anyways) and how idiotic other drivers are. Instead they've kept the existing (useless) system and just added risk education.

Thanks for taking your time to explain. Greetings from Slovenia.

  • @TheMetalCottage Yes, it does, which as a result makes it pretty expensive to take a driving licence in Sweden. I think the wet track risk education itself costed me € 200.

  • @RealizedRealization Does it cost additionally?

  • @TheMetalCottage Well you'd take normal driving lessons first. You'd do this so called risk education pretty parallel with the final driving test and the final written test.

  • @RealizedRealization Could you please explain a bit more? Is it the first thing they do? Before they actually drive in traffic?

  • Okay, Volvos are good cars!

But when i see this video, i hope, that

    1) the plate is on the highest force

    2) not every volvo is as bad as them and

    3) not every volvo driver too^^

I did such a training in germany with my old VW golf MK3 GT without ABS and ESP and i've been already able to get my car driving the way i wanted it to!

And: I just want to do positiv critics, but wouldn't it be better, if the cars stop before the little children on the ice are dead and not when the ice ends?
