In its 27th year, the community bonfire at Skinningrove celebrated 3 anniversaries: 160th year since the ironstone mine opened; the 50th year since the mine closed and the 25th year since the mine was turned into the Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum.
The genuine authentic cultural event involves many people from the community and packs thousands from across the area into the village every November 5th.
Thanks for posting this. Great video, I used to live in Skinningrove in 2003 and the bonfire was great then aswell (green goblin).
runiemage99, I know exactly where you mean although I don't recall any jet there, except when it used to wash up on the shore of Catersty sands. Is there a lot of the jetty left? I remember bits of it falling off (aswell as lumps of cliff).

oh btw when you look at the sea down there strait ahead on the left hand side if im thinking of the right place there is a concrete jetti thing sticking out into the sea off the beach if ur still facing the sea its on the left hand side in the rock face there is an old jet mine there where the sea washes in and out of it at high tide im not 100% shure if thats the place tho thanks
