One of the greatest songs of the 70's Gwen Dickey sings this song with such soul and passion that nobody has topped it in the last 33 years. Rose Royce is one of the underrated bands of the late 70's with classic songs and none more greater than this song from the Car Wash Soundtrack. Sorry Mary J. Bilge, your cover pales in comparison to Dickey's soulful sounds.

@MakeSense10 They way I see it is if Rose Royce didnt let Mary sing this song then Mary would be irrelevant today. Remember Rose Royce sang this song first NOT MJB. They kept her relevant.

CLASSIC!!! JUST...A ....CLASSIC. Mary J Blige did a very good job...this song can only be resung by a bold singer..and Mary stepped up to the plate and did the song justice!!! The original is simply ...beautiful..as Al Green would say!!!!

Rose Royce was relevant because of their music worldwide and the soundtrack to a classic movie which this song is a part of not some third- rate R&B Hip- Hop singer. You young people have some low standards or ignorance of history.
