Doris Day calls in to the Carmel radio station Magic 63 who honoured the great star with an all day tribute show for her 87th birthday on April 03, 2009

Part 6/6- For whatever strange reason the slide show in this clip is a little longer than the talking, though both lengths were matched in the programme I used to make the clip - Sorry about that!

  • Such a wonderful treat, such a terrific effort you put into this! To say thank you is not enough but oh you made my day. I'm a little teary eye. and that she sang even just a line, to know that she is well and has her voice and seems content and happy is precious. Thank you so very, very much.

  • You are most certainly more than welcome. I am just glad the radio station gives us this day every year. :-)

  • Thanks for giving me the opportunity of listening to this broadcast. I've been a fan of Doris for many years and its been great to hear her speaking, the pictures you posted were also great and I'm wondering how you managed to assemble such a collection! Your effort very much appreciated.

  • You're more than welcome. :-)

  • Dear, dear Marion!

This I was waiting for and hopping someone will post it. A great job you've done with all nice pictures. How many hours takes it? Your payment is in knowledge, you made other fans a great joy? Thank you very much.

  • I just love Doris Day, she will always be my favorite actress, she is just great, great personality and spirit. And amazingly young sounding for 87...God bless her! She made Hollywood greater. She will always live in our hearts. Wish there were more people like her.

  • Oh, what a sweet lady!

    Thanks for this post!

  • I hope we get to hear from the wonderful Miss Day again in two weeks. She sounds as good and strong as she did 40 years ago.

  • Thank you so much for putting this up. My Momma first introduced me to Ms. Day's music and movies and we always watched "Best Friends." I now have a collection of her cds and DVDs and still listen/watch quite frequently. It was such a joy to hear her radio interview. It was nice to hear the "spunky" still in her voice, but I can't imagine her being any other way. Thank you again.

  • All he wanted was to get Doris to go to lunch. He's OK but rambled on way too much. Doris has all her marbles but then that's the great woman that she is.

  • It is frustrating. You know, she doesn't make public appearances and hasn't for years, so this is such a treat that she does this—call into the station—on her birthday. I just wish there were a producer involved who could make it more meaningful for the legion of fans who love her and would like to hear from her, and not dear Ed's rambling reminiscences.

  • Kind of a nice little interview with a screen legend. I enjoyed Day's personality, and the few films I saw her in. I'm glad she's still doing well.

  • yea they always try to make it like shes nuts or losing her mind or something. i wish they wouldnt do that. she is very sharp & totally with it! but when they hurl that kind of venom & negativity towards someone who has done nothing but brought joy to the world--who can blame her for keeping to herself & not wanting to be bothered w/ the garbage of todays world--i dont blame her one bit. she has always had a beautiful spirit & an infectious joy. i jus love her.
