1901/Mr. Brightside Mashup - Phoenix vs The Killers

A simple mashup made on GarageBand with movie edited on iMovie. Enjoy :)


Wanna make your own mashup video? Here's how:

1. Get an acapella track. http://www.acapellas4u.co.uk seems to have the best selection.
2. Get an instrumental track. iTunes has many instrumental/karaoke/minus one tracks. Also, YouTube has many tracks too. I downloaded one from YouTube using http://www.youtube-mp3.org/
3. Determine the key and the tempo (bpm) of both acapella and instrumental track. I did this with Virtual DJ (free).
4. Match the key and the tempo of the acapella and the instrumental track. You can do this easily on Audacity (free).
5. Cut and paste the acapella to the instrumental track. I used GarageBand for this.
6. If you want to make the movie for your mashup, you do basically the same thing with videos (match the tempo, then cut and paste the original music video). You can download music videos from YouTube. I used iMovie for video editiing using cut and paste method, but this is probably a lot easier on other video editing softwares such as Sony Vegas or Adobe Premere.

@DaBurntToaster actually I was surprised how easy it was to mix these two songs. I got lucky because the structures of these two songs are really similar. It took me much much longer to make the other one (debaser/animal).

@skane0001 Depends on where you live, I listen to all the rock/alt stations in my area. I travel alot for work and the first time I heard it was about a month ago in Pittsburgh. Decent mashup btw =]
