I wanted to try my own arrangement of this amazing Sufjan Stevens song, both to learn better recording/mixing techniques and to try to understand Sufjan's music writing better.

So this is me playing banjo, guitars, flute, trombone, and shakers. The arrangement isn't as rich as the original, but I like it. Hope you do too.

  • this is so great! you are excellent at the banjo too

  • Your voice is incredible. Great job, man! Keep it up...

  • brilliant, and i adore your voice Sir! xx

  • awesome cover dude

  • Banjo was a little off but good job otherwise. Recording that and mixing it that well is a feat in itself.

  • You should have brought the trombone out. If the flute has the harmony and the trombone has the leading melody, why have the flute be more prominent?
