this is possibly the most extraordinary figure in poetry since Shakespeare. His music has this incredible impact on anyone with an open mind, intelligence and an appreciation for real poetry and real music.

I'm not Jewish and have never been to Israel. Its called solidarity. I despise fascism and racism, Fatah and Hamas' entire ideologies and policies are based on hatred and violence, they blow up busses rather than accept a two-state solution, and they cheered when their fellow fascists turned Manhattan into Guernica. so I support Israel both in principle and from self-interest.

The Syrian army has killed more people in the last two years than every Israeli-Arab war/intifada/conflict combined since 1947. A million people died in Iraq's aggression against Iran, the world shrugged, when the IDF bulldozes a suicide bombers' house, the world gets all emotional.

It is pan-Arab subscribed to by Palestinian nationalists, that led Palestinians and neighboring Arab states alike to reject the original two-state solutions proposed in 1947 by the UN...and again in 2000. so Arab rejectionism toward Israel is very literally what has prevented a Palestinian state. and the Syrian Ba'ath party did more than its fair share to contribute to this, the Nasserists and Islamists did their part too...
