I shot and directed Zumpano's first music video, from their debut CD in 1994, "Look What The Rookie Did". And yes, it IS suppose to look like a karaoke video! It was a one day shoot and we had a blast making it. It was shot in 3 locations: Burnaby, Whiterock and Richmond. All cities on the south west coast of BC, Canada. It was aired on the Much Music program, Much West.

  • Do you have the Karaoke file for this vid? I'd love to rock this song at the Karaoke bar!

Wasn't this on one of the Sub Pop video compilations?

Wish I could remember what happened to my Zumpano t-shirt....

  • To my knowledge there was never an actual Karaoke file made. After I shot the footage, we edited it to look like a Karaoke video and sent it to Sub Pop where they added the words.

  • The best thing Jason Zumpano did was dump Robin McBride and the stupidest thing I did was pick her up, but great album.

  • superconductor had some damn good records too

but zumpano's two albums were near perfect

  • Bad as hell, love Zumpano waay underrated. Best thing Carl Newman ever did.

  • Those two Zumpano albums are pure pop perfection. One of the few bands where you can hear a direct influence by the Zombies. I can't help but wish they put out many more.

  • The Dig Me Out podcast reviews 90s albums like Look What The Rookie Did by Zumpano, check it out at digmeoutpodcast.blogspot.com/

  • i loved hearing this song in the movie Drawing Flies

  • @wtf111884 I don't know who the 5th person any pictures would be. There were just the 4 in the band. Vocalist/guitarist Carl Newman, keyboardist Michael Ledwidge, bassist Stefan Niemann and drummer Jason Zumpano.

  • @raynerad Oh.. Weren't there 4 members? Sometimes I see photos of the band with 5 people and then I see photos with 4 people and he isn't in them. Were there 5 members at one time? :-/

  • @wtf111884 Thats Jason Zumpano. And yes he was in the band. He was the drummer.

  • This is great. Those Beach Boy harmonies at the end get me every time.

  • ballsy sound for 1994 on subpop. awesome band.
