The bottom line is we only have this moment right now at this point in time. We can only experience what's happening right now at this very moment. Past and present are only concepts that cannot be experienced directly. Therefore, if we want to make this moment count. It's obviously best to live life for oneself instead of living according to someone else's rules which were only created to gain control over others.

@Telekon5 You're right of course, but I am a simple being. I go with what I know and understand. I can't make that leap of faith that says we live for eternity, or live many lives through reincarnation. Even in the comparatively short time of 2000 years since most modern religions were invented, if there were such a place as heaven, it must be very crowded with the billions of people who have already died.
But I don't understand quantum physics either, so I'll concede :-)
