Chopin wrote twenty one nocturnes. They are short piano pieces written between 1827 and 1846. Widely considered to be among the finest works for solo piano, they hold an important place in the contemporary concert repertoire.

  • a question there is no other way of playing the key issue for captives of so complicated that it is not

  • @pipesitico sorry, I do not understand your question

  • I'm still really confused on how to do the part with 11 against six (how DOES that work). Is it just 4 against 2 (like straight time) for 2 groups and then 3 against two for the last 3 notes in the right hand? Or how/!!

  • @klumpster11 it's not rigid and subject to the artist's interpretation. if you want it mathematically correct (the way I tried to do it), see my tutorial "how to play 3 against 2 or 4 notes". the method applies to any x against y notes, so we can draw some lines between the RH and LH notes to guide us

  • @bbdhrggl Well, I understand 3 against 2 and 3 against 4...but 11 against six, just eludes me. :(

  • @klumpster11 draw a line with 66 spaces (best to use graphing paper). Mark in red every 6 spaces then in green every 11 spaces. That'll tell you how they fit together.

  • @klumpster11 It is just not apparent - sorry

  • @bbdhrggl Not quite understanding but will see if I can figure that out.

green in one hand and red in the other?

  • @klumpster11 Since if you do 3 against 2 on the 11 against six, what do you do with the others. I dont understand which groups to "match up" with each other...if that makes sense.

  • thank you for posting this tutorial...piano teacher
