I remember when I was 5 I used to collect every kind of Metro Card I found. I didn't know a Blue one existed before the Gold ones until my Grandma found one of hers from back in the day.

I didn't know it went that far back. I thought it was a sudden change. I do remember in '01 it fully got cutoff to the Metrocard system. It was complicated back then, just learning how to swipe a card. The other cities have an easier to use system. if only the TA uses the easier paper cards with the MetroCard look, maybe it would be easier.
