Get 8.5 to work with the ESET firewall and anti-virus in 64 bit machines. That would be cool, to not have to disable the antivirus when using 8.5...(Cakewalk user since pro 9) Thank you

I'm new to recording and creating music... Is Sonar very user-friendly? And I was also looking into buying Magix instead. Why is Sonar better?

I tried Cubase and found it to be very tedious, and having too many bugs. In my humble opinion, it is no where near the quality of Sonar (which I also own).

I just purchased Sonar8 Studio it's amazing! I have Cubase LE and it is extremely basic compared to Sonar8. All of the effects and mixing tools, etc. are fantastic. Trust me, you will love it also. A person needs to have a good ear for mixing and knowing what are the best settings to add to their tracks and the final mix to get a great sounding product and the tutorials and these vids really help wih that process.

It's a matter of opinion - "People" don't prefer Cubase - some do, and some prefer Sonar... I don't know anyone that uses Cubase.

sonar is better than cubase...in cubase if you lose or break your dongle, steinberg will raise their middle finger and say ' f u'. not only that, even the step sequencers and plug-in (including effets) sound quality are well ahead of cubase 4.
