Doodling some improvised blues again. This time showing you how I'm doing the pinched harmonics. I'm playing alternate licks with and without harmonics. Watch my thumb, it's sort of double picking the string with my index finger. The position on the string is also critical. Move up and down till you find the sweet spot.

  • I'm laying thumb on string, plucking with nail and lifting thumb off a fraction after. Try it open string first, move your thumb up to different positions to find the sweet spots. Slide should fully contact strings but just enough pressure to ring out without rattling.

  • it doesn't seem to like copy and paste here, I'll have to rewrite the answer later

  • can't get it to work yet

  • jsl209 - trying to reply but it's showing errors. See if this works and I'll try again.

  • Interesting. I have trouble using the usual method playing harmonics, I'll give this a go instead.

  • Are you plucking with your index and middle and then muting with your thumb really quick? Also, do you barely touch the strings with your slide or do you have it fully contacting the string? Thanks and sounded great.
