How do you select that car itself?

With Hue+Saturation option you do not need to select it, however if your wanting ti select the car to cutout of the image to use elseware, I recommend Quick Mask. Use the PS Help option and search for it, should give a quick reference how to use quick mask.

if I am able to find the free time, I will, an easy way is to use the "histroy brush", basically you do the same thing I show above, but then using the history brush you can go back an "undo" only specific spots to the original color in order to ease the process and fine tune the look.
I am sure there are several tutorials floating around about the history brush.
