Lyrics:

Under the Mountain dark and tall
The King has come into his hall!
His foe is dead, the Worm of Dread,
And ever so his foes shall fall.

The sword is sharp, the spear is long,
The arrow swift, the Gate is strong;
The heart is bold that looks on gold;
The dwarves no more shall suffer wrong.

The mountain throne once more is freed!
O! wandering folk, the summons heed!
Come haste! Come haste! Across the waste!
The king of friend and kin has need.

The king is come into his hall
Under the Mountain dark and tall.
The Worm of Dread is slain and dead,
And ever so our foes shall fall!

  • YEAH! love this song. Gives me a real thrill, I don't know why. I have the cartoon film thing they show, by the way!

Can you put down the lyrics? please?

We must away at break of DAAAAY...to prayer and enchanted gold...

  • @ManOfTheXD The lyrics are in the description.

  • @crazystein65 Ok then.

  • @Cap285 december boys and girls. your childhood is going to be gang raped then skined on the back. then branded on the back( which now has no skin ) and then stabbed to death in front of yoyu by peter jackson

  • @lokimyth I know how you feel. A sword slung across my back and a bow in my hand. That is how I prefer my weapons. Maybe someday on my adventures through the mountains here I could travel with those weapons.

  • its all the same poem from both films, just different sections of it....duh

  • The dwarves of yore made mighty spells,

While hammers fell like ringing bells,

In places deep, where dark things sleep,

In hollow halls beneath the fells.

For ancient king and elvish lord

There many a gleaming golden hoard

They shaped and wrought, and light they caught,

To hide in gems on hilt of sword.

How I love this book. Next December boys and girls.

  • i just want to wear a soward instead of a walking stick omg plz let it happen

  • @JohnnyV83 Jackson only changed lyrics slightly for some poetic flow for the trailer. The song in the trailer is the Dwarves' Song from the "An Unexpected Party" chapter.

This song is "The Dragon is Cast" which is far, far later in the book in the "Gathering of the Clouds" chapter. The lyrics aren't anything similar.

The only things that the two have in common is that they're sung by the dwarves and the tune is the same. I suppose having the same tune can make it confusing.

  • @strombada

Jacksons lyrics seem closer to Tolkeins lyrics, O-er the misty mountains cold is supposed to open the song.

  • the music of this movie really brought tolkiens poetry to life for me, thumbs up

  • Why are people confusing "The Dwarves' Song" with this? I get that Peter Jackson is paying tribute to the 1977 movie by keeping the Dwarves' rhythm and tone, but the lyrics aren't anything similar .
