Every sport was better back in the day becasue people had to be good to get attention. You had to have skill...i mean real skill. People like Dwight Howard can't shot for shit but they are stars today. Not only could Kemp dunk he could also shoot, dribble and get his own shot.

@android725 Nowadays basketball is not just about playing ball and putting your skills up for a show. It has become a business and the players that are able to sell become stars. Not saying that the D. Howard as no skills are all but he has become an icon for the NBA. Yet, there are players in the NBA that are stars and are able to do everything for their team. Rudy Gay and Kevin Durant are examples of this, both of these players are quiet type are go out everynight and play hard.

@android725 also, kemp and howard are 2 different types of players. howard is much bigger and uses that to his advantage. kemp was more smooth like a small forward and used that to his advantage

@android725 dwight howard is a leader and rebounds and points in the nba. the difference between then and now is one player isnt the whole. im not hating on great players like kemp, im just saying that they needed to do more than players today because of their teammates

@theCRIMSONtradition Can't go with that one. The Sonics were played a lot on nat'l TV back then, especially considering Jordan took 1.5 yrs off. If you're talking about NOW, 20 yrs later...yeah, a lot of the early 90s stars have been forgotten. But that's how it goes. Some of the late 70s stars were long forgotten by Kemp's heyday.
