Actually this BOE is made up of only 1 offical educator (works with gifted program but not in mathematics). The BOE president is a fireman. The other bios can be found on the Ridgewood Public School district website.
An important note, sitting around the table during all of this is the head of the math curriculum for the district.

Many of these claims aren't supported and very vague. If a district's scores are falling 'because of TERC' then it's not being used properly. As an educator I believe that if implemented correctly, this math program is outstanding.

Many of the claims of the TERC program being outstanding are not supported. The "research" (quotes intentional) does not pass scientific muster - not by the What Works Clearinghouse nor the National Mathematics Advisory Panel.
