what does render mean
-
Great. It must have taken ages to render this, unless you had a render farm: (...) "It is the story of a disillusioned alien sanitation worker, and an eventful day on the job." - lololol I thought it was chocolate milk.
-
hey how did you achive the partical system? ... when the ship picked up and dropped off the brown goo?
-
MInd telling me the rendering time???must be weeks...And surely this is already more than 800 point

how long did it take to render?

I used the network at work to hijack some PCs to render frames in the background. The users weren't even aware their systems were churning away while they were working. Couldn't say how long the render actually took though. I rendered each shot as I finished it.

Great, funny work.
By the way, how long did it take to create this?
Good luck for future projects!

Thanks for your comment. It took about two years of working on it in my spare time.

excellent! You know how to use all of the effects and tools. How do you get the "light beams" effect from lights?
I'm brand new at this and have a long way to go but really love it and want to learn!
It took me 2 weeks to make my first 8 second clip effort lol.
Must have taken you a long time to create this!

Thanks a lot. I did this a long time ago, so I'm a little hazy on the technical details. I believe the light cones were done by adding a second spotlight behind the one that was used for actual illumination, and it was tweaked for a feature called Steam which rendered the volumetric effect. This was Lightwave 5.6, there's probably a better way a achieve this effect in a newer version.
