(English version below)

'Salubong' (=encouter) is a very popular Holy Week celebration in the Philippines borrowed from old Spanish traditions. It conmemorates the encouter before dawn of Easter Sunday of Mary in mourning for the death of her Son with Him just risen from the death. Typically, a float with a veiled Mary meets another float with the risen Christ and a child in angel robes comes from on high to unveil Mary's face at the music of a twelf-century medieval him to Mary "Regina coeli laetare", sang by the faithful, sometimes, like in this video, by a group of children in angels' robes.
