You mean Taliban blowing the statues? I can not explain other peoples actions, aplogize for them nor justify them, all I can tell you is what our scripture says and what we believe in. After that it is your choice to believe what you want.

Stereotypes against non-Muslims are more rife in the Muslim world than stereotypes against Muslims are in the non-Muslim world.

They will tell you that it was better, every old man told me that when at the bus stop, the first thing they'd thought wasn't..."what religion is she/he?" like most times nowadays happens. People would mingle toghether, spend time toghether eat at each other's house, now this it's getting fewer and fewer...especially for the middle class, the very poor and the very rich have less problems about it actually. I really hope you can get back to the ol' times folks...but it doesen't look that easy.

true but also true that most of the christians would go to buy stuff @ christian stores, muslim to muslim stores etc. true that they might have to see a doc, but it is also true that disrespect with my eyes, right in the souk...I get what you say, and I know it'is also a problem of "perception" of the other and not about what the other really is, but it's still like that. Political representative of a gvt don't make a point. If you're egyptian ask older people how it was, say 20 years ago.

There is no apartheid in the Egyptian community.

what proves my point is that christian population in Egypt is 7% and our government consists of 20 minsters of which 2 are Christians (10%), so they represent in the government more than their percentage in population. I have lots of christian friend and we all do really great and we live a perfect social experience. Christians who feel afraid of Muslims or feel oppressed in this country should really see a doctor.

Addmeifucan, by sake of your own argument you can only tell others what you believe, not what "muslims" Believe, as there are many interpretations of scriptures. That saied...well if you point out the tolerant aspect of your tradition, culture, religion etc (wether muslim or not) you are working for the good, any culture has a double edge, it's up to us to choose which edge we want to bring forth to the world.
