How to get HD for your YouTube videos with Sony Vegas 9

You may want to go to event pan/crop and go to source and click mantain aspect ratio and change to no, to make it fit into your screen, Most of these settings will not have to be changed, im sorry for not just panning and cropping but here

Project Properties; Video tab
Template: HDV 720-30p (1280x720, 29.970 fps)
Field order: None (progressive scan)
Pixel aspect ratio: 1.0000 (Square)
Output rotation: 0 deagrees (original)
Frame Rate: 29.970 (NTSC)
Pixel format: 32-bit floating point (full range)
Compositing gamma: 1.000 (Linear)
Full-resolution rendering quality: Best
Motion blur type: Guassian (asymmetric)
Deinterlace method: Blend fields

Audio Tab
Master bus mode: Stereo
Resample and sretch quality: Best

check off "Start all new projects with these settings"

Render Settings; Audio Tab
make sure "Include audio" is checked
Mode: Quality VBR
Format: Windows Media Audio 9.2
Attributes: VBR Quality 98, 48 kHz, stereo VBR

Video tab
Mode: Quality VBR
Format: Windows Media Video 9
Image Size: High definition (1280x720)
Pixel aspect ratio: 1.000 (Square)
Frame rate (fps): 29.970 (NTSC)
Seconds per Keyframe: 5
Quality: 100%

Save the template as whatever you want, I named mine YouTube HD for future reference, again most of the settings will not need to be changed

thanks for this. hey do you have any ideas of how I might change the fact that YT makes the quality of my videos look terrible when I upload them? I render them and they are just fine, I upload them and they look so ugly! can I do something about it?
