@TXnineandout hi she is saying that Ball Lids contains BPA witch is Bisphenol A is an endocrine disruptor, which can mimic the body's own hormones and may lead to negative health effects so that is why it is Bad. hope this helps=)

ball lids contain bisphenol-A (BPA) which is carcinogenic and causes hormone/fertility problems...
tattler lids are made for canning and there's no reason for you to think they would allow botulism into jars...i assume you mean the water bath method? and Lindsay is right about that one, apple sauce is perfectly fine using the water bath method :)

the commentors are right...and im not sure what you were saying about the ball lids containing something "bad"... but truly, botulism is pretty bad also. nice kitchen tho!

@PassionateHomemaking That's not correct. High-acid foods (all the fruits except figs and tomatoes that are not acidified) can be safely processed in a water bath canner. Low-acid foods (vegetables, figs, and tomatoes that are not acidified) must be processed in a pressure canner.
-
@PassionateHomemaking It is actually non-acidic foods that need the pressure canner. BUT apples are considered an acidic food, as with most other fruits, so they are ok in a water bath.

so happy you started making more videos! love your videos!! yay ^_^
I like the idea of your applesauce. But from everything I have read all non-acidic foods have to be presure canned in order to store safely. So I don't know that a simple water bath will do for applesauce.

@DADFAE2001 It's actually acidic foods that have to be in a pressure canner. Applesauce is perfectly suitable in a water bath.
