I slid my car into a hillside about two months ago. The tale-tell grinding noise of a bad bearing started about 2 weeks later. I've put about 1000 miles on the car since the grinding started. Good think I'm replacing it now. (Yes the lugs are tight.)

  • hi - i have a 1991 trans am, and i am hearing a grinding noise when i turn and there is a humming sound from the wheel - is this all to do with my steering pump? it has enough fluid in there, trapped air maybe?

  • The grinding sound when you turn is the tale-tell sign of a bad wheel bearing. If may also grind/hum even when driving straight. Are you sure the hum is not just from the tire tread?

  • @knochgoon24 could also be a ball joint...

  • You do realize that this video is 2 and a half years old? The car has been fixed has has about 30,000 miles on it since then.

  • side to side test is mainly for tie rods and up and down for wheel bearings.

  • Yes it is.

On my car, both were bad.

  • @knochgoon24 I hope you mean you put an additional 30,000 on it. Because there isn't any way that eagle talon has only 30,000 on it.
