(I know this isn't the right music. YouTube had a problem with me using the Superman theme, so I was forced to replace it with Beethoven.)
This is a short excerpt from an animation project I did for school in 2004. It was meant to be a vision of what the opening credits for Superman Returns might look like, two years before the film was released. I was trying to match the design as closely as possible to the opening credits of Superman: The Movie from 1978. This version was completed in November 2005.
In 2006, a week or two before Superman Returns premiered, I brought a copy with me to a Superman convention in the aptly named Metropolis, Illinois, just in case anyone there wanted to see it. When I arrived, I got a tip that one of the screenwriters, Mike Dougherty, might be there. Sure enough, I spotted him out of the crowd and managed to meet with him. I told him I had a clip I wanted him to share with director Bryan Singer and began describing it. Before I could finish, he stopped me and said "Wait, YOU made that!?" He then explained to me that Bryan had seen the clip on my site and had wanted to use it in a rough cut of his movie, but they were unable to get in contact with me.

As much as the Superman theme is irreplaceable in this, am I the only one who wants to see a full credits sequence done to this theme by Beethoven now? :D
Nice work, Tom. Maybe someday we can have one giant Supes credit sequence done to Ludwig Van's Fifth. Would rock SO hard!
