  • I will be proud to be a Delta Air Lines Flight Attendant, with a union contract. We as flight attendants will have the potential to be the strongest work force in the Aviation industry.

  • We will have the ability to make the changes all of us want in a contract from the most junior to the most senior, and we will have the opportunity to lock into stone, a course for our careers. Having a contract will also grant us the ability to plan our lives further ahead than one month at a time. All of which I have stated above can be accomplished while we all work toward improving the bottom line of our company insuring the longevity of our company and our jobs.

  • I'm laughing at patnofriend and wondering if this very foolish individual is going to change their name when Pat Friend retires. hahahahah

Yes ALPA has almost the same structure as AFA. The problem is that ALPA defends and improves their contracts; AFA doesn't.

The pilots have gotten 2 raises since NWA came out of bankruptcy. Despite our me-too clause in LOA 35, AFA has failed to enforce the provision. Those two raises that we should have gotten could have made an NWA flight attendant $40,000-50,000 richer than they are today.

So you have to look beyond the structure and look at the union's performance.

Really? I should be ashamed? It doesn't strike you ironic that Pat Friend is no friend of flight attendants? That she is not even a flight attendant herself? That she stayed in office in violation of the AFA Constitution?

4Y83Z120401, you should be ashamed of yourself for your mindless post that shows a gross lack of historical perspective and failure to recognize the complete failure that AFA based on their own performance.

You asked "Do you have health, car, home owners insurance?"

Here's the difference: I am able to shop around and CHOOSE an insurance company THAT WORKS FOR ME. That's not the case with AFA and they are too selfish and greedy to allow any other union on the ballot.

AFA is like an insurance company that doesn't pay when you're in a car accident or in the hospital.. AFA has failed to live up to a SINGLE promise, and all YOU could point to was something the FORMER union did.

  • gaschambers1 - you are wrong. AFA did not protect our jobs against outsourcing. That was all done by the former union and decided by the bankruptcy judge before AFA was on the property. In fact AFA was RAIDING the NWA flight attendants AT THE VERY TIME THEY WERE FIGHTING TO PROTECT SCOPE.

You are the fool, gaschambers1. Getting your facts all wrong like that and spouting off so high and mighty like. That's a good example of the behavior we'll get from the union if AFA is voted in.

  • Would you go to court without a lawyer, let someone else decide your fate with you having no say in the outcome? You are a fool and I hope you see the light before it's too late. P.S. Do you have health, car, home owners insurance? If so why, according to your logic we should just let others and circumstances decide our fate, I guess I'm just a little more pro-active then you...

  • Patnofriend, you are a fool, What did the union do for us, it kept them from outsourcing our jobs to cheap Chinese labor with our SCOPE clauses, clauses and protection Delta flight attendants don't have. Oh and guess what, those same guys that tried to outsource at NWA are now heading Delta. Why do the pilots have a union? Why does management have contracts! Why would we not want one?

  • The fear of a union is much stronger then having one.... What is the length of a union term??? Oh thats right.... It is FOREVER...You can ALWAYS get a union...but if you have one...you can ONLY switch to another.. NWA F/A's have been married to a union forever...why dont we try being single for awhile?????
