@MyMusic0201 Members of the audience doing such stuff have died for less.
We live in a culture of self-concern and gratification.

Soffel, and Herlitzius --- INCREDIBLE

People secretly filming an opera performance with their phones should be kicked out and never be allowed to return. Do you have any idea how distracting and annoying it is to have someone sit beside you playing around with a phone, with the display lighting up? Why don't you just sit still and EXPERIENCE the opera instead of recording it? You're not watching TV while having sex, either, are you?
What good is there in posting a one-angle excerpt with lousy soundquality anyway....

Haenchen was great in Tannhauser! And the staging had some nice things. But I think it missed some quality in the cast of soloists. as compared to this Frau.

I agree. But for me also the " Tannhauser" last year (under Haenchen)!
Die Frau ohne Schatten at De Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam to me was the greatest achievement since Wagners Ring in 2005: A perfect balance between Homoki's great staging, a superb orchestra performance by the Netherlands Philharmonic and his maestro Marc Albrecht, and a superb cast: Especially Doris Soffel, a great Amme.
But the one singer that astonished me every minute of this performance was Evelyn Herlitzius: A great dramatic soprano with vast roots in lyricism, weltspitzenqualitaet!!

I completely agree martello79, although I didn't see Wagners Ring in 2005 so I can't compare the two, this was a very impressive production and Soffel & Herlitzius swept me away.

Thanks for your response! Would you by any chance have other fragments to put online? More Herlitzius for example? :)

Sorry to say this is the only fragment I have. Maybe I'll be more daring next time and'll film more...
