Yes he is an experienced pilot and he wouldn't deliberately pancake it, however he did fuck up and had miss set the pressure setting and/or airfield elevation. It was only the sheer power of the engines that prevented him from pancaking it.

@77wimmut. If he cut the power he would have lost power needed to level the plane up, let alone flare it, and the force the plane would have touching down would do serious damage to the gear.

0:32 plane stalls so hard becaz of minimum momentum resulted in fall. while understanding the situation pilot ignites the after burners which in next moment provide sufficient thrust to Eurofighter helping him rise again in the sky until its too late

It was actually at the RIAT. And no I'm American. But I am actually coming back to the UK in March 2012 on tour with my band, so I'm open to any aviation spotting recommendations around London and Brighton. : )
