This is the first part of Dr. King's Drum Major Instinct Sermon. The Scripture Text is Mark 10:35-40, 43-44.

This is posted in remembrance of Dr. King who is a great influence in my life. As we all know, Saturday April 4, 2009 marks the 41st Anniversary of his assassination. Let us reflect and keep moving toward making his dream a reality.

*BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE SECOND PART. IT HAS A SPECIAL ENDING.*

  • Okay! first of all i apologize for my passion in describing my displeasure, but I dont apologizr for my opinion. We have enough white people out here dipicting us as monkey looking uncicilized and distorded. I enjoyed the clip, but our image has evolved and we dont have to post the images that were intended to insults. we people see that there is automatically a sterio type that we are barberic and clownish looking. but sorry if I offened you.

  • @cokesand Thanks for your apology.

  • nice sermon, dumb ass first pic though. We don't look like that shit right there. come correct wit that shit or dont come at all. you fuck up the whole clip

  • @cokesand To begin, the cursing is unnecessary and will not be allowed. Secondly, the first picture is of a drum major. It may not be how all people see them but it is how the artist(whomever he/she is) saw it.

  • This is by far one of the best posting ever. Good job of finding the beginning of his speech.

  • damn my mom used to have that poster hanging up at 3:06

  • @cokesand

It is art, not racism, asshole. The painting is designed to depict flow and music in the motion of the subject. Good grief, nothing "monkey" like about it. To the contrary, the art of it is emblematic of what set humanity above the human realm, to be able to grab the spiritual out of the thin air of beauty.

  • This is the type of sermon that is needed to be spoken here in East Asia.

  • thx 4 posting!!!!!

  • Actually, that first picture is one by Ernie Banks, a very well respected artist. I think it's quite appropriate.

  • Thank you so much for this!
