Sort your fish out, get a proper tank, filter, heater, if you cant get those simple things, you need to give away your fish because obviously your to Dumb to take care of a fish.

ALNEAL bettas dont need filters, i had one and its better to have no filter because they are also bottom feeders. i know because my grandpa owns an aquarium in australia

I think that the poor fish would have been happier at a pet store in one of those cramped containers rather than being tormented. That fish was flinching like crazy. Its not saying,"Yeah keep plopping that thing next to me!!"its saying,"STOP IT I HAVE FEELINGS TOO!"How would you like it if someone dropped something on you?
