I just made this quick video to tribute the wonderful melodic death metal bands out there that recieve so much less attention and fans then less talented (in my opinion), more mainstream bands and singers. Also, I am annoyed by the stereotypical nonsense of death metal being "screaming at the top of your lungs" or "satanic emo music".

This video is of various instrumental parts in my favorite death metal songs, riffs, solos, intros, and outros. I only included bands that are mature enough NOT to complain about how their copyright was infringed, and some bands I wanted to include were not for technical reasons. Anyway, accept it for what it is an enjoy!

Don't forget to support these bands by BUYING their albums.

Bands Included:
Insomnium (my favorite)
Kalmah
Watch Me Fall
Mordium
Climhazzard

  • Is there anything on this list that is actually an instrumental and not just a riff?

  • @kingLorshi nope sorry, i woulda taken this video down years ago, but it got a very positive response so I guess I will keep it up, unless you guys feel I should take it down.

  • Some good music here. One question - why is it called death metal? Is it because it sounds like the vocalist is being throttled to death? Music should be about life and affirming and encouraging and I love great creative musical talent.

  • @jmsbk12345 who says music should be about life and affirming and encouraging (not to mention some death metal tracks do that-- check out Insomnium's "In the groves of death" or Arch Enemy- "I will live again"). Music should be about whatever you feel like playing or listening to. I like very dark and depressive shit when I am in the mood for it.

  • The video is good for something (for instance Journey Unknown of Insomnium that is an underrated song) and not good for something else (where are the beginning of Hades and instrumental part of "They Will return" of Kalmah? And Where are Dark Tranquillity (lethe?), Amon Amrth, Norther, Wintersun and first In flames?)

  • @Gamereo i made this video when i was just getting into metal haha

  • @inuyasha333 thats a pretty stupid reason to dislike a video, i labelled it MY favorite, doesnt mean they are the best or that all others suck, I havent even heard your track

  • What the hell? These aren't even instrumental! You only took instrumental parts from the songs!

  • INSOMNIUM!!!

  • Kalmah have such good melodies from what I heard, sad they too hard for me...

  • @jmsbk12345 Death Metal got its name from one of the first bands to do this genre which was called "Death". As death became more popular, people began saying that they were going to play their metal like "Death's" or Death's Metal. So they stuck with the name Death Metal as the name of the Genre. And about Music being about life. If you want to listen to a song about life, go listen to one. Not all songs have to be alike. That would make for a dull iPod playlist.

  • He listed songs with his favorite instrumentals in Melodeath. How hard is that to understand?

  • @YourRoadToHell No need to take it down. I just thought that because of the title, there'd be instrumentals.

  • JESTER´DANCE - IN FLAMES IS THE BEST ( for me)
