DSLR WILL OVERTAKE THE CAMCORDER!!!!!!
DSLR MOVEMENT!!!!!!!!!

I have an EX1 and an EX1R, plus a Canon 5D Mk2.
In normal use, there's no way the image quality of the 5D Mk2 comes near the EX1s - provided the iris setting of the EX1 is no smaller than f4.5. With iris settings of f5.6 to f16 (using Canon EF lenses) the DSLR wins hands down.

is that shirt one of the designs on the timelord messaging cubes?

It would be nice to show us a comparison of the ex1 and the 7d to show the so called difference of sharper image quality that the dslr's have.

@TheTorrie89 why yes it is.

@GabeandGarrett I use both DSLRs and EX1/EX3's quite frequently and much prefer the DSLRs image. The EX series cameras are nowhere near being good in low-light. Hell, they're noisy in the shadows at 0db in the daytime and the noise starts in the mid-tones... not really that great. The highlights also have terrible roll-off in comparison. The only thing they really have going for them is that the image is less artifacts and a bit more resolution...
??? I have both the Sony EX1 and Canon 5D Mark II (DSLR). You say the image is better on DSLRs? That's simply not true. DSLRs will give you more depth of field, and are typically better in low light (although the EX1 is very good in low light), the image itself on the EX1 has much more resolution. Have you seen both compared on a large screen? DSLRs certainly don't have an image quality advantage over the EX1. I'd hate for people watching your video actually think that would be true.

@GabeandGarrett hey man. thanks for your comment. I've done some research (should have done more before making this video) and I've realized that this is correct. sorry about my comments. Although I believe DSLRs look better, I understand that the ex1 has better resolution

Hi David,
Great video. I'm planning on getting a DSLR. In this video you mentioned extra items you need for the DSLR - rig, sound recording equipment. Could you please tell me what items you would recommend to go with a DSLR to make it look and sound like film e.g lenses, tripod, sound recording equipment. I would really appreciate it.

@arwenevenstar123 hey man. thanks for your question. In terms of audio equipment, your going to wanna get a Zoom H4N Audio Recorder. With this, also get the program PluralEyes which will sync video to audio.
For lenses, I highly recommend the 15-85 canon efs and the 50 1.8 canon

Hey David! I invite you to add your input to the thread I started in the DVXuser audio forum entitled "Is the EX1 Image Quality any better than the best DSLRs?" Here is your chance to prove your point. All I can say is that I feel the EX1 has a sharper, better, IQ, but I'm open to being wrong when your tests prove your assertions. Cheers!
