Reflections of a New York City Virgin

Ah, New York City. One of those places people tell you you should experience in your lifetime. What is it about New York that makes it so special? I've heard a lot about the Big Apple - the tall buildings, the taxis and their infamous drivers, the vast subway system, the fact that you can find an open restaurant, or get take out at 2:30 in the morning. It's all about the energy and the attitude.

For my first time, I told myself when I go it would be in autumn. I'd love to capture the fall colors in a city that's already vibrant! If it were another season, I would take black and white photos. I think New York is a very dramatic city.




On the 4th of July in 2005, Chris and I met with Steve as we watched Manhattan light up with fireworks from across Brooklyn.

Black and white it is.
