We use a lifting kite to support an Amatuer Radio long wire antenna. At the end of the day, we tied my camera to the kite, set it to record video, and let it go up for a few minites. This is the result.

  • Just a Casio Exilim hung by its lanyard, nothing fancy, but yes if you did it properly, it would be much better!

  • Hey cool idea! how was the camera mounted?

I was surprised at how much movement there was on it! but I did notice how well sounds from the ground, birds, people etc was being picked up! I use a FlyCam 1 on my heli, check the two video replies.

  • what a great idea! What camera did you use? With a bit of experimentation you could get some amazing results.
