As I was hunting through my film collection, I came across several interesting Edison films made in the late 1800s. One of these was a short film of Annie Oakley shooting small glass targets. Annie Oakley (August 13, 1860 -- November 3, 1926) Born Phoebe Ann Mosey, she was an American sharpshooter and exhibition shooter. Oakley's amazing talent and luck led to a starring role in Buffalo Bill's Wild West show, which propelled her to become the first American female superstar. Using a .22 caliber rifle at 90 feet, Annie could split a playing card edge-on and put five or six more holes in it before it touched the ground. Here is a demo of her skills.

she loved and practically demanded to be the center of attention, and at others' expense. was a show off and used unnatural means to obtain her "talent", similar to techniques experimented with by nazis. she did herself in.
