That's the locomotive's bell; activated by the horn.

Hey, were the crossing signals activated by the locomotive horn?
After the horn I could hear the electronic crossing signal bell, but could not yet discern any forward movement by the train.

Starting out, I would be beyond the grade crossing to have it in view to see the crossing signals and also to see when they activate.

Yes,my wife discovered it last year and I managed to get a CN eastbound there this past June. Haven't shot any vid there yet though.

Yeah that would be the first time I had shot from that side too and I like it, altho that squatter in the background didn't like us too much!
