I felt that I really ought to talk a little about stuttering. It certainly is a subject that is under addressed in society, very likely for the simple reason that many stutterers don't like to talk to people. Thus how can they explain it? It looks like it's starting to become a more widely understood subject and for that I am grateful. However we, as stutterers, still have a ways to go before it truly is no big deal, as I would love to see it become.

  • @marcusm1105

I respectfully disagree with that opinion, lol.

I must say I do find it sad thought that you and other people feel you need to randomly say potentially hurtful things to people, probably to feel better about yourself. :( Self love.. that's the key to happiness. =D

  • Theres a girl in my debate class that stutters, that has won more speech and debate compititions then any other kid in my school, so please people grow up.

  • @flsimx Wow, very good for your classmate. :) Obviously stuttering and public speaking can go together (quite contrary to what many people tend to feel at first about those who stutter.) Hopefully she will continue to win competitions and tear down stereotypes. I wasn't a public speaker type in high school but only because my school had no debate class, club or anything else of that kind.

  • Is tying a problem? does the signal go to the hands better than speech?

I know you are very intelligent. just trying to learn a little bit more about this.

  • @Volectorus whoa, terribly sorry for replying soooo late. I thought I had before, but now I see not so. :( I do make typos in a keyboard of course, but everyone does that. I'm not sure if I type worse than most people or not. I don't think typing is a problem though. I do it the same way as anyone else would and I can hit the keys as I think of words, so to type doesn't seem to result in the same basic issue that speaking does. (lol, hopefully that makes sense.)

  • I find this hard to watch, mainly because I have a stutter too and have seen myself do exactly the same, isn't it frustrating when you can't get the words out!?!?

  • Just to add to the comment, if you notice one of my video topics I posted I never hardly stutter that's because I was alone and relaxed and filmed myself prior to posting it. You'd have to see me on the phone or around someone that makes me nervous to see how bad I stutter. You speak very well compared to me. On top of it I have other physiological issues. I will be posting a video with this topic soon. Thanks

  • Hi Astra, thanks for your video post. Yes stuttering isn't a big deal although I take it personally as I stutter tremendously. I have moments where I can't even say Hello to answer the phone, I slobber when I talk although I don't anymore in public but I do alone. If I'm alone and have to call, if I get a voice mail i'm happy, so I leave a message via voice mail instead and in some cases don't answer my phone and let the person leave a message.

  • @charlienethercoat094 Ew. please do not respond to me.
